Default Downloading and installing OS - 02-27-2008, 05:44 AM

I have been read threads how to install a newer version of my OS on my handheld, but i get confused with a couple of things.

When i am downloading the newer version do i run this or save it and if you have to save it, is this to my desktop?

When i have to delete the xml file in c:programs/researchinmotion/..etc on my computer, but when i connect my BB through DM 4.3 will the OS that i have downloaded will it automatically start to upload itself or is there anything that i have to do.

Thanks

Willyc

once you run the program it installs all the files to the blackberry folder that desktop manager installed and stays there unless you delete it or it becomes corrupt. the benefit of saving the file to your computer is that if you need to reinstall desktop manager for any reason you can reinstall the OS quickly.

to install the new OS, when you connect your BB to desktop manager go to the app loader section and it will recognize the new OS and just follow the on screen instructions to install it.
