Default cannot clear unread messages - 1 message remains - 07-14-2005, 02:41 PM

Hi everyone.. I'm new, been on a 7250 for 5 months now.

I ran into a problem where I had 1 message marked unread. When I would hit 'u' in my inbox, it could not find any unread messages. I also looked through my folders and couldn't find any unread messages.

I searched the forum, and there is a mention of this problem here: http://www.blackberryforums.com/showthread.php?t=797
but there doesn't seem to be a really clear answer.

I figured out what to do:
- Go to Messages
- Open the menu
- select 'Search'
- do not fill in any search terms, just click on the menu and hit 'search' again

This will bring up ALL messages on your Blackberry - phone, email, wap, whatever.

- Now, when you hit 'u', you will find the mystery message. This is much easier than searching all of your folders to clear the message!

Hope this little tip helps..

FYI....when you're seeing an unread message indicator but you can't find the email in your Inbox, 9 times out of 10 its in the "Saved Messages" folder.

Thanks for the tip! This is exactly where my unread message was.

I read this because I too could not get the orange envelope indicating unread messages off the upper corner of my 7520. All my mail was opened and then I realized that it was logging my missed calls up there too. Once I deleted them, then it was gone.
