Default Need Help with Javaloader/Apploader!!! - 07-18-2005, 06:46 PM

I've seen all sorts of solutions to the problems I'm having with my Blackberry 7230, but nothing seems to work.

My unit turns off after a minute or so and just won't work. I tried the AppLoader - it seems to recognize my Blackberry and begins loading. But when it seems like it's just about to finish, the Blackberry turns off and I get the following error message:

"A fatal error has occurred while updating your handheld's software. Please try again.
Unspecified error encountered [J:0x00000005]"

I've tried doing the Javaloader -usb wipe. But I either get a message stating: "Connected to device . . ." and then "unable to open port" or just a "connected" and then "disconnected" but the unit still will not turn on.

I've tried this with Desktop Manager running and not running.

I'm at wit's end! Please help!

Thanks.

Try this solution: http://www.blackberryforums.com/showthread.php?t=12087

OTHER SOLUTION:

2 Words: Warranty Exchange (if under warranty still)

Thanks - but the first solution didn't work and the second is not feasible since I'm traveling overseas and can't get my unit exchanged anytime soon.

The frustrating thing is that I seem to get so close to the end of the Application Loader process. The loader recognizes my BB and enters the correct pin number. The loading process seems to go along just fine. But when I get to the Loading Java Applications stage, everything shuts down and I get the error message. I tried the usb wipe, but that doesn't work.

Does anyone have any other solutions I could try at this point?

Thanks!
