Default desktop manager and OUTLOOK!!! - 07-19-2005, 12:19 AM

I have an employee that seems to have a problem. I tried to help him install Desktop manager and when he went to setup the PIM, he could not select Outlook. I have run into this several times, and for the life of me can not remember how I resolved it. He can choose Outlook Express, but not Outlook. Any ideas? Outlook is on his machine, and works. Thanks.

Have you tried rebuilding his MAPI profile? Also depending on the version of Desktop Manager that you installed you may want to remove it and upgrade to v4.0 SP1!

He is running xp pro. Sorry, I am not sure what MAPI is... do you mean setting up his Outlook account? He doesnt use Outlook for e-mail, just wants it to store contacts. Thanks

If you goto your Control Panel for Windows and click the mail icon, then Show Profiles you can add a new profile there and then delete the old, DM should automatically notice this change but if it doesn't goto options and profile settings in Desktop Manager to select the new profile;

Default MAPI and Outlook - 07-20-2005, 12:43 AM

Did the solution from the previous post work? I have this same problem i.e. Outlook is not available for selection when setting up the PIM in BB Desktop software. I have done an uninstall and reinstall to no avail. Thanks
