Stuck Trying to Sync Using Desktop Manager -
07-19-2005, 11:49 AM
I'm experiencing a problem with my 7750 -- when I put my blackberry in the cradle to sync up, the Desktop Manager gets stuck while "Seeding handheld random number generator". I've tried killing the desktop manager process, the blackberry handheld manager process, rebooting, removing the Research in Motion folder under my Documents and Settings folder ... everything I can think of, all to no avail. The Blackberry just shows the "Connected to Desktop" message/icon but I can't do anything else. I'm about to throw the stupid thing against the wall.
If I pull the blackberry out of the cradle, that "Seeding handheld..." panel goes away, but when I put it back in while at the Desktop Manager main window, it goes back to trying to seed the random number generator. If I take the blackberry out of the cradle, then click on the Intellisync icon, then put the blackberry back in the cradle, the "Configure PIM" button never gets enabled. It's almost as if some process within of the desktop manager recognizes that the blackberry is connected but another some other process does not.
And I have absolutely no earthly idea how to contact any customer support for this issue. Please, can someone, anyone, help me? My Desktop Manager version is 4.0.1.10, I recently received this replacement 7750 handheld (about a week ago) and it's running 4.0.0.171 and I'm using the Verizon Wireless network. Thanks in advance to anyone who can help me or point me in any direction where I can resolve this problem.
