Default BB Browser doesn't work when TCP configured? - 03-24-2008, 09:45 AM

I wanted to take advantage of things like facebook and jivetalk, so I set up TCP on my 8100... Everything now works, I use the opera mini browser and that started working once TCP was set up.

The thing is, since everything else starting working, the built in browser now reports there is a problem with the internet connection... Not a huge problem other than opera switches to the built in browser to download, so I can basically browse, but can't download... specifically google maps.

I guess I could disable TCP, reboot, download, then enable TCP, reboot, carry on... but is this something obvious I'm missing to fix this problem?

Shouldn't have a problem! I don't personally! Did you change any browser configurations accidentally?

Have you tried a battery pull while BB is powered on?

Thanks for your reply. No I didn't change anything. I can literally remove the APN settings, do a battery pull, and the BB browser starts working, but everything else stops working, then when I put the details back in, reset, everything else works but not the browser.

I did some more messing, and found that if I change opera's setting for 'protocol' from 'sockets' to HTTP, then that also stops working, so I believe that setting up TCP is somehow stopping HTTP requests from working in some way.
