Default How to decrease the amount of time it takes to synchronize - 08-25-2004, 05:47 PM

I have a 7750 and it synchs to Lotus Notes 4.6.7. I have over 5000 calendar entries, but I've set the Advanced features on the Calendar conduit to only synch 10 days prior to the synch date, and 365 days in the future. When I synch, Intellisync shows it going through all 5000 entries on Notes instead of entries that fall within the range I have specified.

Is there a better way to limit the amount of time it takes to synch my device?

is there no option in Lotus Notes to just sync new entries, as opposed to syncing unmodified entries as well..?

do you mean in the Intellisync dialog box or in the Notes client?

I think the option to select what gets synched and what doesn't is more a function of Intellisync rather than the Notes client. Regardless, I checked a few of the more obvious places in the Notes client, and I can't find where I would limit what is synched.

I've got a few thousand Notes calendar entries also, limiting it to two months prior and 12 months in the future, and the synch moves pretty quickly. It does cycle through all the entries but only takes 10 seconds or so to do it. The first synch was notably longer but that isn't unusual for PIM's. We're using Notes ver 5, maybe that makes a difference although I don't see why it would. What version of the desktop manager are you using?

I'm running the 3.6 version of the Desktop Manager. Perhaps the ability to limit what gets synched IS a function of a newer Notes client. I searched through the menu structure on my 4.6.7 client and there doesn't seem to be anything I can use for this problem.
