Question Automated installation of Handheld software - 07-21-2005, 11:51 AM

We are looking to upgrade our Blackberry 7230 devices version 4.0.0.185. Does anyone know of a method to automate the installation of the handheld software through the Application Loader? I am able to automate the installation of the handheld software to the desktop, but not through App Loader. Thank you for any assistance.

what exactly do you mean by automated? App Loader is pretty automated, just choose the app and let it run... Can you be more specific please..

Only was to push an application is either from a website that has setup push or if you are running a BES then you can set-up Application Policies in your BlackBerry HandHeld Manager for the app to be required and that would push the application to your handheld(s);

I apologize for the lack of clarity.

We are running BES 4.0 and will be enabling the Show Application Loader policy. Ideally, I want to have minimal user interaction after the Application Loader detects the updated handheld software to install. I don't want the users to have the option of selecting or deselecting components to install on the handheld.

Thx

OK, you can definately setup an Application Policy in BlackBerry Handheld Manager Configuration Tool that requires a user to have that application installed on their device, it will also automatically with 4-6 hours push the application to user(s) handheld and install it automaticall!
