Question Email Messaging Password Prompt for DM - 04-10-2008, 03:56 PM

I am wondering if there is any way to remove the need to enter my password to log into the messaging system when Desktop Manager starts up. By this I mean I have to enter my Outlook password, but I have removed the need to enter my password to open Outlook. Any help would be much appreciated.

If you have the BB password protected, you will need to enter it when connected to Desktop Manager. Outlook has nothing to do it, unless they are coincidentally the same password.

Thanks JSanders, but my BB is not password protected. What is happening is when I startup my computer and DM is loading, a window saying "connecting to messaging system" pops up and then prompts me for my Outlook password. My BB is not connected and Outlook has not even been opened yet.

Thoughts?

Sounds like Outlook isn't accepting your NT Credentials. I am sure there is a setting somewhere. Is this a work PC or home PC?

Work, but there are only two of us so no real IT policy issues. We're on a BES if that helps. Thanks.

I would try going into DM Email settings and resetting the profile. Reconfigure and see if it stops.

Another thought. Does Outlook prompt for a password when you open it? What happens when you open outlook first and then say connect? You may want to check your Outlook authentication. Tools>Email Accounts>View Change Existing>Change>More Settings>Security> (make sure always prompt for username and password is disabled and that Network Security is set to Kerberos/NTLM Password Authentication.

Wirelessly posted

Never mind. Appears to be a stupid Outlook thing. Thanks for your suggestions.
