Basically the BB Handheld Manager is what communicates with your device while cradled, to resolve this issue you will have to perform a complete un-installation of the Desktop Manager.
Utilize the "Add/Remove Programs" control panel in Windows to remove the Blackberry Desktop Manager software.
Once complete:
Windows 2000 or newer:
From Start, select Search and for files or folders.
Type in C:\Program Files\Research In Motion.
Once located, delete the folder.
From Start, select Search and for files or folders.
Type in C:\Program Files\Common Files\Pumatech Shared.
Once located, delete the folder.
From Start, select Search and for files or folders.
Type in C:\Documents and Settings\NTUSER\Application Data\Research In Motion.
Once located, delete the folder.
Windows 98SE and Windows ME:
From Start, select Search and for files or folders.
Type in C:\Program Files\Research In Motion.
Once located, delete the folder.
From Start, select Search and for files or folders.
Type in C:\Program Files\Common Files\Pumatech Shared.
Once located, delete the folder.
