Default Desktop Manager How To? - 04-21-2008, 03:40 PM

I have been searching the threads and google for an hour now and I cannot seem to find anything related to a tutorial for Desktop Manager. I am really starting to hate this software as it is not very user friendly. Unless I am just flat out missing something, or maybe I am simply stupid, I cannot figure out how to use the software, sync properly, transfer media, or anything. What bothers me most is that I am above average in understanding programs, but I am at my wits end.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Perhaps a link to an elaborate walk through tutorial?

There is a decent help function in Desktop Manager. Maybe you've tried using it; if not, take a look.

How far have you gotten with it? What are you trying to do and having trouble with?

The help feature hasn't seemed to work, nor does anything else. The ONLY thing I have gotten close to working is syncing my contacts but in the end it didn't change or do anything to PC or BB info. Mainly I want to transfer media (pics, music, vids, ringtones) from PC to BB. Only problem is when I try to use the media function (Roxio) it says no devices are connected even though DM shows it as connected. I have gone round and round with the program and right now it is winning but I am still standing.

Wirelessly posted (8700g)

I'm not sure about media manager and the connection issue, but let's start with this: Are you using version 4.3?

Many have problems with 4.3 and do ok with 4.2 SP 2. If you are using 4.3, it may be better to switch to 4.2 SP 2 before wasting time trouble shooting. See what others say, if you like.

Also, many, I think, just enable mass storage and drag-and-drop using explorer. I can't speak from personal experience on that. Just what I read here.

What ^^ Aiharkness said!

Please note that when you enable mass storage you will no longer be able to user media manager. It is then just recognized on the PC as drag and drop.

Good Luck!
