Default AIM data question: - 05-05-2008, 10:18 AM

I thought AIM (via the Blackberry/AOL client) was through data, and not through the Messaging plan? Clarification on this please?

Thanks.

The AIM application uses data only.

The OZ app for BB uses SMS.

OH, ok. Good thing I got unlimited data!

Also, does MSN messenger work with corporate MSN messenger, if it exists (don't know)?

Thanks!

Yep! Just too bad you got AIM

JiveTalk is the great for covering ALL instant message clients.

Wait a sec; OZ messenger is SMS? Ugh, don't want that; need to use data! Where is the official AIM download (I searched and searched, I promise; and I'd rather have dedicated apps.) that's available to AT&T?

Thanks.

Meh? So where is the AIM OTA for AT&T? It's not compatible? WTF?

So I finally a) found the AIM client, and b) installed it. But when trying to log on, a message pops up asking to go to blackberry.com/aim, I believe. Wow, AT&T is really making you use their software. And while JiveTalk looks nice, it would be great to use an official client, and not have to pay for it either.

I mean I already paid for AT&T plans, but limited SMS... wow. Handcuffing FTL!
