Default PIN Messages & BB Messenger issues - 05-07-2008, 05:47 PM

I had my BB Pearl stolen recently and had to purchase a new one on Craigslist. I got a new SIM card issued by T-Mobile and everything worked fine. I have only recently tried to use the BB Messenger application and noticed that it is not listed on my drop down menu. When I go into Advanced options and scroll through the list of applications it lists BB Messenger as being one of them. I have also noticed that on my general message menu, there is no option for sending PIN messages. I have tried removing and re-installing the Messenger application, but it still doesn't work. Can anyone help?

The device probably has an IT Policy on it which prevents the use of those functions.
This is common when purchasing second-hand equipment.

Search this forum, or read the FAQ for instructions on removing the IT Policy.

Thanks guys, had a look and it does indeed have mention of an IT Policy. I will have to follow your instructions when I get home. Cheers.

That post should fix you up. After the new blank policy has been applied to your device and your options come back, go back and undo the instructions so you don't apply the blank IT policy to another device that has no policy.
