Default windows mail help

Please Login to Remove!

Hello all and thanks in advance for any and all help. I have been reading as much info as possible in the last few days since this curve is my first BB. My question is this. Is there anyway to sync my contacts from my vista system that uses windows mail? Thanks again!!

Not with the current Desktop Manager. Maybe with a future version of DM.

Yes, if you are using Desktop Manager ver 4.3, you can sync your Vista address book conatcts.

Hello folks.
I too would like to sync all of my contacts from my Windows Mail address book to my BlackBerry 8120 Smartphone.

i have 4.3 version of the Desktop Manager but I cant find the windows mail address book when i try to sync. just microsoft outlook, outlook express and yahoo.

im afraid when it comes to mobile phones I am rather backwards so apologies if i am missing something obvious.

J, welcome to the BBForums.

You're on Vista? The Win Vista address book should show as an option for syncing, it is possible on 4.3

thanks for the warm welcome
I'm afraid it doesn't show as an option.
do I need to download an added part to the program perhaps?

Cheers

No additional program needed. Reboot the computer, maybe open vista in administrative mode and see if you have the options in DM.

The option just doesnt display.
Could there be a fault somewhere?
I'm a UK customer just so you know.
Perhaps i need to do something with my windows mail settings to allow DM to access the address book?

any possible advice would be most appreciated as the prospect of typing in 700 odd contacts by hand is very demoralising.

best
J

You guys aren't looking for "Windows Mail" in the BDM (BlackBerry Desktop Manager) right? to sync the the address in Windows Vista/BDM 4.3 you can only use the options quoted above:

Quote:
rganizer Support
Lotus Notes® 6.0, 6.5, 7.0, 8.0
MS Outlook® 2002, 2003, 2007
MS Outlook Express 6, Windows Contacts (Vista Address Book)
Novell® GroupWise® 6.5, 7.0
Yahoo!® PIM
You most likely will want to use:

Quote:
Windows Contacts (Vista Address Book)
If the above option is not showing up in BDM 4.3 first make sure the Windows Vista address book is on your computer, second maybe re-install the the Desktop Manager,

Althought it could be easier for you use Outlook (I think it can be bought seperately now for like $60.)

New here, but I had the same issue. In DM4.3 the Vista Address Book is listed as Microsoft Outlook Express when you configure the Address Book for syncing.

Notes:
-The Home and Work street address will not transfer. The city and state transfer though.
-Only the Work Website will transfer, not the Home.

Hope that helps!

Same issue. Yet I'm only showing Yahoo, and ASCII. I've rebooted, reinstalled, and still the same! I agree, I just got this, and it was one of the main purposes was syncing to WIndows mail and windows calendar and I'm not getting to far. New at it also, but trying really REALLY HARD, to make it work!
