In The Blackberry simulator, if you hit Alt - E,S,C,R you get the "Engineering Screen Contents" screen. If you do this on the device, you get the "Help Me" screen. Is there a way by sequence of keys or something to make the device act like the simulator for this series of keys? Is the simulator in a special engineering mode but not the device?

That is a simulator only mode. Cant do it on the actual device. Or at least not anyway I have ever heard of.
