Default Trick redirector - 08-06-2005, 12:55 AM

I'm trying to connect to my GroupWise 6.5.4 email server (for email, everything else works) via redirector unsuccessfully. Now, I've installed Outlook 2000 client successfully (connects to GW server) and reinstalled the redirector (I've heard it rumored, this works). The "tower" icon now appears but when trying to create the encryption key, it displays an error "email system does not know its email address, either your system is not configured correctly or it is not supported". Am I going at this all wrong or is there any way to sync GW email with BB without BES. Oh, I am paying for the service and the Redictor software is emailing a key, Sample below:

Redirector working with Groupwise? Interesting. I am pretty sure (OK, completely sure) that Redirector will only work with Exchange.... I could be wrong, but I don't think so..

So your saying the redirector "talks" to Exchange and not Outlook?

I believe so. It uses MAPI calls to Exchange. You don't need Outlook open for the Desktop Redirector to work.

GW uses IMAP4 I believe. Need to take a closer look.

Thanks

One way around this would be to set up an Exchange server and have a GroupWise connector. To much hardware involved to support 5 users.

Redirector uses MAPI to contact Exchange and write info to the users mailbox
