Default Blackberry User Tools - 06-01-2008, 07:06 AM

I have a 8300 Curve which came with a user tools cd which seems to contain version 6300 4.2.2 the problem is I have loaded it onto my laptop, which runs Vista home edition and everything works other than media manager which comes up with an error that the desktop tools are not working and to check the installation whenever I double click on it. The program runs without problem on my XP computer so I am not really sure what to do and if I have the right software for my Curve…any suggestions?

Wirelessly posted (my new touch button BB)

It is vista! I'm pretty sure

I think others have had a similar issue

Might try searching it. I am on my BB so hard for me to do

Good luck

Go to BlackBerry Desktop Manager Downloads - BlackBerryFAQ

and load the version of Desktop Manager withOUT the Media Manager, you don't really need the Media Application anyway.

Thanks but if i wanted to add new themes and such like how would I do it without media manager or is it just for transferring files, which I am doing through explorer anyway? If so I might as well keep what I have at the moment as it is syncing to Outlook etc which I what I want.

Wirelessly posted

You do not need media manager for installing themes or applications.

You would use the application loader part of desktop manager for that.
