Default Suddenly turning on address book sync - 06-06-2008, 09:17 PM

For reasons that I no longer remember, when I first got my BB some 18 months ago, I decided that I did not want my BB’s address book to sync with the address book in Microsoft Outlook.

I am using BES, MS Exchange 2007, and Outlook 2003.

Because of my choice to keep the address books separate, I know have a mess on my hands that hopefully can be corrected by simply turning on the sync option on the BB.

My concern is that either all the Outlook data will overwrite what’s on the BB. Or that the BB’s address book will take precedence and wipe out what I have in Outlook. What would be ideal is if the most recently updated record for any given name is kept, regardless of whether the update was on the PC or BB. I imagine I may end up with duplicate entries if the names were not entered exactly the same, but I am fine with that. I just don’t want to lose anything.

Can any describe to me what would happen if I suddenly turned on the sync feature? Or, have a recommendation for how to remedy this? Thanks.

1. I would do a complete backup of the device using DM first. Turn off wireless sync in your Messages > Options before connecting.
