Default New User 8330 Email question - 06-11-2008, 05:29 PM

I have a new 8330. The Desktop Manager (4.3) and Redirector was setup on my office desktop to sync emails from outlook (2003) that I get message from our Exchange server (2003). It seems to be working well and sending emails to my BB with one caveat.

On my BB, I have 3 envelopes. One is Messages, second is my outlook email account and a third for my internet mail. What I noticed is my Message has the other two message in the inbox. I also notice it has two entries for each email (like it is gettng a copy of the message).

As an example. If I get an email to my desktop outlook for Bubba's body shop repair. I'll get the email in my second BB account. In my first Message account, it will have the one from my second NN accoutn and another exact duplicate message from Bubba. To confirm and verify, if I try to delete one of the message (from my desktop outlook), it asks if I want to delete it from "mailbox and handheld". When I delete the duplicate message, it only prompt to delete the item. My pain is deleting the same message twice (as well as having to open both to reduce "unread" message notifications).

I'm sure, being a new person that is evaluating BB for the first time, I'm missing some setting. I've looked, but I'm not sure what I am looking at and I'm not sure how the BB is suppose to be setup.

Thanks in advance

Did you set up BIS in addition to the redirector by chance?

No, we do not have BIS setup. Only the workstation with the noted sw (desktop manager and redirector).

Ahh, gatcha... Now I know why they call you the BlackBerry God and you know I'm a newbie.

I looked in my EMail setting (BIS) and my service book. My email has two setup (work and personal) and my service book has three (Messages, work and personal). As you noted & in the service book, Messages and work point to the same email address, just different ways. Is this the right place to look (pointing in the right direction) and what do you suggest is my next step?

BTW, I turned off the redirector to see where the emails will show up in.
