Default Headset and auto-answer

I'd like to use my old headset from my cell phone in a similar way with my 7510. For instance I'd like to have the BB auto-answer when holstered when it senses that there is a headset plugged in. If this is not possible (if it is I can't figure it out), I'd even settle for manually entering each time I plug in the headset using a Profile that allows this to occur. If this not possible I guess the headset is about useless.

As an aside, why does the auto-answer feature only work "out of holster"?

Becasue RIM is protecting you from you! :P

A bluetooth headset will allow you to answer the phone at the touch of a button on the headset itself. Might be a cool option. I'm using a TREO side case right now so my 7100 is out of the holster even when it's in if you catch my drift.
