Default security policies - 08-12-2005, 09:51 AM

Not sure if this is the right place to post it, so I apologize if its wrong. I've noticed (and my boss has too) a weird thing that happens with our blackberry's. The BES admins have set the default security timeout to be a max of 30 minutes. I have changed mine to be two minutes but every once in awhile it changes back to the default of 30 minutes. Does the BES automatically send out the policy or would this be one of the admins hitting apply or something on the server that then sends out the update? I noticed anytime the timeout changes the security updates were jsut recently applied. I don't have access to the BES and I'm not sure if they are changing things, but this happens frequently.

Does this make sense?

When your IT policy get's re-applied any settings you have changed will revert back to the IT policy defaults. I'm pretty sure this is what is causing this. Hope that helps
