Default DM4.3 event logs 'Operation terminated unexpectedly' - 06-26-2008, 07:54 AM

I'm having a problem with synching my calendar to my BlackBerry Pearl 8120. When I run Desktop Manager, (PC is running Microsoft XP Pro SP2 and Office 2003), I get an 'operation terminated unexpectedly' error message after 229 of 403 entries.

I've tried deleting the 'Intellisync' folder and uninstall/reinstall of Desktop Manager 4.3 to no avail. I don't want to start trawling through my calendar entries to delete each one in turn, run Intellisync and then re-insert it until I find the faulty one. I also tried the method that gives you 'tif.log' and 'PtTrace.log' but I was unable to read the faulty entry - it didn't contain any distinguishing data e.g. date or time.

I've now downloaded DM v4.5.0.15 and ran it. It syncs my Outlook Address Book OK, (all 815 entries), but when it starts reading from the MS Outlook calendar it stops on Record 206 of 407 and I get the 'Operation unexpectedly terminated' error message again! Is there a method of identifying the faulty calendar entry? The 'View Log' button only shows the successful entries and doesn't appear to be in chronological order.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated

After much head scratching and more re-installs than you could shake a stick at, I've finally resolved this issue.

I'd read somewhere that DM doesn't like recurring appointments that get altered. When I used my iPaq RX3715 with MS ActivSync, I'd create four individual entries in Outlook for my partners work, (two days a week - Thu/Fri or Sat/Sun), and then recur them for one year. As we got notice of each shift, I'd alter that particular entry, so we'd end up with all the entries altered.

What I've now done is shorten the recurrence to four months, and I'll see whether DM can work with that. No doubt I'll hit a point when it won't let me make any more alterations and I'll get the 'Operation Terminated' message. I'll post the result, so we'll know what the time limit is.

P.S. I've gone back to v4.3, as 4.5 doen't seem that different and took an absolute age to install.

I'm getting the same error. The trouble is that I have recurring appointments every day, and there are changes to them regularly! I don't know where to begin...
