Question Desktop Manager/Redirector stalling - 08-16-2005, 12:23 PM

Please help!

There was a time when my blackberry Desktop Manager and Redirector worked just fine.

This day ended when my Desktop Manager began to hang indefinitely when trying to connect to my messaging service (Outlook 2003, SP1). The redirector continued to work; the annoying part was that I couldn't sync any contacts.

I recently upgraded to the 7290, and after uninstalling/reinstalling the Blackberry software (now trying to run 4.0.1), neither the Desktop Manager NOR the Redirector will initialize. To add insult to injury, right before the redirector began to hang, the Blackberry itself was rejecting all messages that were sent to it by the redirector.

Nobody can help me here. We don't have an IT department, and I have limited experience with these Blackberries. I'm not technically inept though; I do have a computer engineering degree (they don't teach you how to be a windows administrator in college though).

Please help!

Create a new MAPI profile and do not use cached exchange mode.
set it to your default profile to get you into Desktop Manager you can set within redirector settings to always use that profile and you can change your default back.

Let me know
