When using enterprise manager as the connection between exchange and the device, why is it that when I delete an e-mail from the inbox it will NOT delete from the device? Is there a flag that controls this in enterprise manager????

It is not instantaneous. The reconcile of moves and deletes happens in the background about every 20-30 minutes. If you want it to happen right away, choose "Reconcile Now" from the drop-down menu in your message list.

zenartbb: thank you...but do you know whether this is controlled by some flag in enterprise manager...because when I delete on the inbox in outlook, i have waited overnight and the messages do not go away from the device....suggestions??

Check to make sure you have wireless reconcile set to On in your Messages>Options>Email Reconciliation.

yes, its enabled. but I think there is a flag on the enterprise manager side that controls this and I am unable to locate it.....
