Default ?s on BB 8310 Browser 4.5 - 07-07-2008, 12:03 AM

Was wondering in Blackberry browser what would cause not being able to enter text for example trying to log in to wap on blackberry forums and other web pages too? In other words just wanted to type my user name works but when I click on password I don't get anything in the box. Any ideas?
Also, in browser configuration > Emulation mode what should it be set for? There is Blackberry, Microsoft IE, etc etc (5 in all).
That's all for now. Thanks.

What OS are you running, Is the cursor active or disabled, I've heard that it was a bug in one of the Beta OS releases. If it is disable the cursor and try it then.

Emulation mode should be set for Blackberry I believe.

Version I am using is 4.5.0.37.
Cursor is "usually" active for the first field but then when I move the pointer down to the second field for the password I tend to get a thick cursor in that back then it clears but I can't type in it.

Disable the cursor in your Browser options menu and then try it.

The only thing I saw to disable was "Enable cursor in column view" is now not selected.
I have default view set for Page.
So I went back to try this again and this time when I only slide pointer over the user ID I type it in then did the same for password it worked this time. Not sure why now, though.

Thx for the tip... changed the option and will see if the browser's more "functional". I've been getting so frustrated with the BB browser since upgrading to 4.5.0.37. Looking fwd to the next "official" 4.5 release.

Thx to all for the great advice!

Sheldon
