Default Intellisync Crash

Please Login to Remove!

I've searched, both here and elsewhere. I've tried what was suggested.

I'm still having crashes on an Intellisync (via Desktop Manager) sync with my Outlook calendar.

It crashes on record 448. How do I find out what record 448 is?

Yes, I've deleted all appointments with attachments.

Yes, I've enabled logging (as per KB-01451) and I don't see anything that's useful to help me.

Yes, I looked at record 448 in one of the log files. It's not the record that's the problem.

Here is something, though... Since this problem surfaced yesterday afternoon, I looked at all of the appointments that were added or got changed yesterday. On one, it was an old meeting where one participant send a "request denied" response. So, I deleted the meeting (it was an exception to a recurring meeting). On my next sync, all worked!

But then, I sync'ed again and got the same crash.

Can anyone please tell me how to determine, for sure, what item 448 is? I can't go around just deleting things from my calendar until I stumble across the solution. Particularly since many of my meetings are invitations (from or to me).

Any help?

It could be an item with an attachment, which is not allowed on the BB... see here.

Thanks, but I did say "Yes, I've deleted all appointments with attachments."

But there is more in that link I sent you.

Did you close Outlook and/or reboot the PC after the deletion?

The PST file to which you sync Outlook doesn't update until after close and reopening, I think. I am not sure, but try that.

Go into backup/restore with the HH attached to the PC. Select advanced, select the Calendar database on the HH (Right side), select clear. Backup and hit synch now.

Worth a shot. ALways works for me!

Yes. Each and every time. Had to, since after the crash, Outlook reports that another app has the file locked. Even when it wasn't reporting that, I still rebooted.

When I last had this problem, I read the FAQ you sent. Sorry, but I don't see anything in here that I haven't tried. Is there something, outside of removing attachments, that you wanted me to see?

I think the solution to my problem should be simple: once I know how to determine what record 448 is, I can just delete that one.

Nothing else, other than viewing your Outlook calendar in a view that might allow you do find record 448. I don't recall how the sync reads the file (in what order: alpha by last, first, sequential, etc), but perhaps you might pickup some clue in that view.

If all your data in Outlook is uptodate, I would try Thatzmister's trick, just to see...

Since I was able to manage to get a good sync in there, this trick worked for me. Thanks!

I'm at the end of my rope with this same problem. I'm running Window XP, DM 4.5 and OS 4.5

I cannot get it to sync w/out crashing during the calender portion unless I use the setting for syncing 10 days before and 10 days after.

I've tried:
-wiping the device and reinstalling thru backup
-doing a clean uninstall and re-install of DM 4.2.2, 4.3 and 4.5 numerous times
-doing the advanced restore and wiping the calender off my handheld (as described byThatzmister2u)
-checking for attachments in Outlook (didn't have any)
-running the Outlook error scan program, made sure I had the first and last name filled in.

AAARRRRRGHHH!!!!!

Any suggestions from the pro's?
