Default How do I install the 4.5 OS onto my hand-held?

Please Login to Remove!

I have downloaded the file "450_b016_english.exe" from this site and installed it onto a new notebook. Everything went fine and I am able to backup my 8310 without problems.

I deleted the file "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader\Vendor.xml" expecting that the next time I connect my 8310 the OS would automatically upgrade. But nothing happens!

My phone's OS is currently V4.2.2.184. What do I do next?

The file you downloaded was for "Desktop Manager". You also need to download and install the latest Handheld Operating System (firmware) for the 8310. Look in the top section of the 8300 forum for the latest version of the 8310 handheld OS to use.

Good luck.

Thanks NJ, I downloaded the file "8310EastAsia_PBr4.5.0_rel75_PL2.7.0.66_A4.5.0.52_ Optus.exe" and it worked. One thing tho, I've lost the icon for my GPS. Can I get it back? Also, does the OS file I downloaded have Blackberry maps or do I have to purchase that? Thanks.

Oh, how do I bring up a browser window?
