I'm not the most saavy blackberry guy, and to me I have a very complicated situation and I am hoping for help. I had to replace my Pearl due to a faulty trackball. I bought this phone in April from a Verizon authorized retail location. I had problems with the supplied software and the only version of Desktop Manager I could get to work with the phone was v3.6. When I replaced the phone I backed it up on the DM. When I tried to use the restore function on the (not really) new phone supplied from Verizon, v3.6 would not work. I tried version 4.0, 4.3, neither worked. I finally tried v4.5 which I got to work with the new phone. I used the restore function on the Pearl, using the file I had backed up on v3.6. When the restore completed alot of my programs were deleted. This includes preloaded software like the Blackberry Browser. I'm at a loss now and I don't know what to do. I thought maybe the icons were hidden, but they arent, the program appears to have been deleted. At this point is there anyway to reset the phone to factory defaults, and then just transfer my contacts over?
