Have you removed any un-needed programs from Startup, Start -> Program Files -> Startup.

If you can you migth also want to threw the "startup" tab in msconfig, Start -> Run -> (Windows Key+"R") Type "Msconfig"

There is also a program called "Autoruns:" which tells you everything that starts up with the computer, you can google it to find the download from

Some other information about your system would help, RAM, CPU, HDD Space (% Free), etc.

Just think about how far BlackBerries have come from then till now... And what else is coming.

I've had this happen on a few XP installs too (including my own!). It's something with the latest version of Roxio it installs. I've seen it make a domain XP login take up to 3 minutes! Uninstalling the 4.6 cleared it up immediately. Reinstalling any prior version causes no problems at all. Gotta' love Roxio .

I've had the same problem with Windows XP. It takes me about 3 minutes to boot my laptop, whereas before installing Desktop Manager it took less than a minute.

I've now gone into ADD/ REMOVE PROGRAMS, deleted the Roxio Media Manager part of Desktop Manager and problem solved.

I have no use for the Media Manager anyway as I can transfer music, video and photos etc to my Blackberry bold using Windows Explorer.
