Default Desktop Manager and Vista 64 bit. - 01-19-2009, 06:11 PM

Tried downloading the cd that came with my 8330 several times now with no luck on a new laptop. Is DM not made for vista. Also tried downloading it from BB. It downloaded, installed, and then it was gone.

Vista can be a hassle, I would disable UAC (User Account Control) and then try and isntall it.

Where do I find the UAC? If it's on the cd it won't even open.

Disregard. That didn't work either.

Hmm.. Double trouble with Vista and a 64 bit machine.

Not too sure I don't have a 64 bit machine, so I can't confirm it will work.

Hopefully someone else can chime in, who has a 64 bit machine. (64 bit if becoming all too common nowadays)

I'm not sure what help I can offer, but I run Vista 64 bit and I have DM 4.3.0.17 on my system and it works fine. I did try upgrading it one time and then I couldn't recognize my BB. I downgraded back to my default version and it works fine again.

I use Vista 64 bit The only issue i have when installing DM 4.5 if i install roxio it slows my machine to a crawl once Roxio is removed evrything works fine.
Nice thing is that Microsoft media Player will sync your songs to your BB now need to find a good way to tranfer photos or find out the optimal size for photosfor a BB 8330.

Im using Vista 64bit as well with no problems. I believe Im on DM 4.5 as well. Could be 4.6 but I dont think so. I just installed from BB official site. Never acted weird. I do agree Roxio app is an incredible waste or space/time. The one gripe I have IS the synching with Media Player. I didnt know MP did that and I think THAT is the reason why Im getting "disk errors" when I plug in my BB via USB on my microSD card. It claims I might have pulled the USB before files (songs) were finished copying which I KNOW is impossible. Luckily, I keep a backup on my laptop HD of my SD card contents so occasionally I just reformat my microSD card and then recopy the contents from the HD to my card and all will be well again. 2263 songs on my 8GB card now. Takes about 15 minutes to copy - but oh well...

Default BlackBerry 8330 and Vista 64bit - 06-16-2009, 08:52 PM

I had the same issue and then I ran the setup file as administrator by right clicking on the setup icon and it seems to have worked fine
