Default Bugs in 7100t (V3.8.0.128) Paltform 1.8.0.91 - 10-27-2004, 12:23 PM

Anyone see the same issue with their 7100t(V3.8.0.128)?? I want to confirm whether I'm the only one getting this error.

Scenario:

When reading a message, page down the message using "9M" key and then again page up the message using "3UI" key. And then to exit the message when I press the escape key, I get the following error message
"Input System error. The system is being restarted". An another escape key press takes it to Home screen and give another message "Uncaught exception: aStart(0) Cannot exceed String Length (-7)!"

Hope RIM / Tmobile fixes this in the next release.

Thanks

I was not able to duplicate this problem on my 7100t. I did update my desktop software to 3.6 SP3 before I loaded the V3.8.0.128 software on my phone, don't know if that made a difference.

I can confirm the same error. When reading a message, I don't even have to scroll down using the 9M key, I just have to scroll up to view the header using the 3UI key. When I press the escpe button I get the same error message.

I never saw this until after the software update....

I have also noticed this error occuring shortly after a glitch in the SureType. I will be typing along on my 7100t, composing a message, when the SureType suddenly goes bad and fails to recognize common words that it normally gets right everytime. I get a bunch of gibberish instead. Then the "Input System Error" usually pops up and says that something is being restarted (perhaps SureType?). After that the SureType goes back to working fine again.

Can anyone else confirm this bug, or shed some light on what might be happening? I had neither of these input system error bugs prior to updating the OS....

Yep managed to replicate this issue. This only seems to happen when the cursor is in the header info. Whats interesting is on my BB when I use alt-esc to toggle between apps - messages is always an option. When theis error occurs it seems to close the app completely and it disapears as an option.

Unhappy it happens to my 7100g even when I type the password - 03-15-2005, 08:53 AM

Please help! Another thread mentions it may be caused by corrupted entries in the address book when SureType tries to guess the words we type. Anyone has a solution? Thanks.

Thanks for the advice...It's already on 4.0. With no other options, I just wiped all the data on my 7100g and it works fine so far.
