Sync wanting to delete Outlook appointments Hi, I'm using a Curve 8900 and DT Manager, on sync the BB Sync wants to delete my old Outlook calendar appointments, despite setting keep 'forever on the BB. Bit of a pain since I do want historic appointments kept. Any suggestions on how to stop it doing this please ? Thanks - Peter |
Wirelessly posted (Its All About the U!) When you are syncing, change whatever setting you have for the reresh option in the DM. Let's see what happens. |
Change the calendar sync option in the Desktop manager. In the calendar sync setting set it to sync "all appointments" Both the BlackBerry and Desktop Manager have two seperate options to control how long calendar events are kept for. |
Thanks guys, tried all suggested, neither seemed to work, still tries to delete historic appointments, bit of a puzzler, ideas ? |
Weird, so in your BB Calendar it is set to keep appts forever and the sync in the Desktop manage is set to sync every event not just future events? Have you done a battery pull? You might want to do a "re-sync" and then try it again.. Before you do that backup your device. |
I also have had problems like this between Outlook and my Storm. I have lost all data when carrying out a two-way synch in the past when I was not careful enough to check the details of the synch process. Right now, despite using the 'forever' setting, items in the previous month (January) have disappeared. When running synch, the process wanted to delete all the appointments from Outlook too. I managed to get them back onto the Storm using ReSync. But I'm very confused as to what is going wrong. I tried 'pulling the battery |
ditto Same exact problem. Every one of my Outlook appointments over 3-4 weeks old is getting deleted. HUGE problem. Driving me insane. |
Did anyone manage to resolve this issue? Looks like i have a similar case :-( |
Have you tried everything mentioned in this thread already? Setting the Desktop Manager Calendar Sync to sync all appointments and settings your Calendar options to Keep appointments forever? |
I have the same problem I am having the same problem and have already tried the suggestions given. It is very frustrating. Please help! |
Make sure y'all only have your BB DM set to sync only 2 weeks in the past (or the like)with Outlook . If you don't what will happen is that your BB will delete it's calendar entries that are more than 30 days old off of itself and then when you sync with Outlook the sync will do the same with your Outlook calendar. The point is that the time that you have your BB set to delete it's calendar entries (e.g. 30 days) must be GREATER than the time you have DM set to sync your BB and Outlook calendar (e.g. 2 weeks). This corrected my problem. |
has anyone come up with a solution to this problem??? |

Calender Auto-Deletions  I found a solution that hopefully works! On your BlackBerry, go into the calendar's menu and select Options and check the Keep Appointments setting. You'll want that set to Forever. (I discovered mine was set to 15 days GRRR!!) If that's already set to Forever, try setting it to a day range and enter 999 in both prior and after today |
