which version of app world are you running?
This was a problem for some users when app world first launched.
latest release should be 18.104.22.168.
Make sure you've got this.
then, try a battery pull.
Im unaware about the 8320 having wi-fi. if it does, turn it on, and then start app world. it should try via wi-fi and the message should dissappear.
When you say firmware, you mean the OS? It will not matter whose carrier version OS you have, they are all the same.
