| I've been checking out the functionallity of JavaLoader. One of the commands is nvstore: Dumps NV store data to stdout. Now I'm guessing that this means dump non-volatile date to standard output, I thought video but that didn't seem to work. I'm curious as to what the correct syntax for this command might be?
I have a similar problem with recoverflash <size in bytes> switch. which attempts to recover the specified amount of flash. I thought initially that this might be a kind of physical memory dump process. I initially tried it on a 8700r without success, it generated Error unknown request consistently as I tried to sus out the syntax but no joy. and I could never figure out how many bytes I might be trying to recover. I used the dir command and discovered what appeared to be 15056100 bytes. Then I got to thinking what if flash referred to a memory card so I tried it with a 8330 with a memory card onboard. Running the command line appeared to work correctly and completed with no errors only to generate a 0byte file. Again syntax seems to be my problem. Does anyone have some thoughts on where I might be going wrong or if I'm even in the ballpark
Thanks much

| Need Assistance, Please!! I have a BB Curve 8310 (AT&T). While upgrading to OS v.4.5, the phone began to power on and off continually: a black screen, a red led on (then off), a white screen with an hourglass on (then off), and on and off in this cycle. I downloaded JL_Cmder and installed it, but it doesn't seem to work. This is what it does: with the phone connected to USB, I select #4 in the JL menu, confirm "Y", and type "blackberry," but I don't press Enter until the phone screen comes on. At that point JL screen says "Connecting to device..."; however, after a few seconds when the phone screen goes black, JL quits and goes back to the main menu (options 1, 2, 3, etc.). By the way, I am running Win XP, SP2, on a Compaq Laptop (about 2 years old). Any ideas? Thanks. | | Offline

| Oops, I failed to mention in my post above that I have tried JL in two different laptop computers (both running WIN XP SP2), different USB ports, and different USB cables. Thanks. | | Offline

| Unless your device is dead (some kind of error on the screen that won't go away,) there's usually no need for JL_Cmder. | | Offline

| Wow! This is really something! Give me a few days to digest this. The ability to install a "selected" OS is great! I've always hated not having that ability.
I wish there was a way to make a backup. I hate using DM for that.

| yeah, it's a work in progress. i hate dm, but nobody seems to be able to duplicate what they do. and the way they do some of it is horrible... do a backup, and then still have to trick it into exporting your apps by using the device switch wizard.
but i'm not worried about that so much... javaloader.exe is a powerful tool, i wanted to exploit it for every possible option via a gui. done. then i wanted to optimize my os, but not take away from crackmem --- and at the same time attempt to do it in an identical way...
...and finally, my worst pet peeve, i hated uninstalling all of my os's and only leaving one os in add/remove programs. i got zero sleep until i figured that out. ;) now i'm installing 88xx, curves, and storms, any version, any time - no uninstalls. | | Offline
