I am running version 4 code on the handheld and the desktop.

Neither of the menus above can be found. There is no "Redirector Settings" option in the Desktop Manager, and no Email Settings menu under Messages=>Options in the handheld.

Default Too many shortcuts! - 04-09-2006, 04:10 AM

I've been fustrated that I can never seem to remember shortcuts, so I decided to annotate them as below. You may (or may not!) find this useful. This is on 4.1 on an 8700g. It's a shame RIM don't underscore the shortcut letters on the menu texts...

to change the "sent from my blackberry" thing at the bottom of your outgoing emails, you just log onto your online email account and change your "signature" although if you do that then people will not know that you have the coolest device since the invention of the microwave.

If you are running software version 4.0.xx or lower this selection is only to tease you. You must be running 4.1.xx or higher in order to use "themes".

Angry 4.1 upgrade now messages show on both - 04-13-2006, 03:21 PM

Hello All,
I just inherited a BES server in DEC. We just upgraded to 4.1. How do I stop sent messages from the desktop from syncing with the BB.
7280 and 90's.
Thanks.

Default how to "mark as read" many messages (hundreds)? - 04-18-2006, 10:47 AM

How do you mark hundreds of messages as read? There used to be a shortcut in my 7230 but I can't find it on my newest BB from Verizon. Thanks

My 4.0.0.185 BlackBerry does it properly -- it avoids capitalizing the first letter of a password field. That's the way it should be for password fields!
What about typing out web addresses in text messages when the first letter u type is the "h" in "http" or the "w" in "www"?

I would like to know if there is a keyboard shortcut to access the trackwheel menu w/out having to click the trackwheel. This would solve the above problem and give access to a great amount of other options w/out clicking the trackwheel...

Do people hate using the trackwheel because thay think it's slower, or because they're afraid it's fragile?

Default Message Flags - 04-26-2006, 04:13 PM

I didn't see this when I searched but has anyone seen the <$removeondelivery> flag? It deletes the email when it is delivered to the device. Aside from this and <confirm> does anyone know if there are there any others?

I am looking for a way to send periodic test messages to users on my BES to confirm that they are working. But I'd like for them to not notice that I'm doing it. This looks promising but I stumbled across it in that same link that you posted. So I thought I'd ask here to see if anyone has found other flags that may be usefull as well.

Default Sending e-mail 101 (8700g) - 05-04-2006, 12:11 PM

Once I'm done typing an e-mail, is there a way to send the e-mail by just pressing a key?? It seems like all we have is press the trackwheel and then hit enter to send...or press the wheel again. I'd like to send my e-mail without using the trackwheel. T H A N K Y O U !
