| | 9530 Stuck in Headset Jack Mode for OS other than 75

I have been trying to upgrade the OS on my 9350 for the better part of a week. I have successfully loaded 18.104.22.168 and 22.214.171.124, and they work great...with one exception. When I try and make a call with either of these OSs, the phone is stuck in headset jack mode. At least with 148, I can switch to speakerphone, but without an actual headset jack plugged in, I cannot hear the call.
I have searched and found a few people who have experienced the phone getting stuck in this mode, and have tried plugging and unplugging, the q-tip method, pulling the battery, etc. all without any success.
The phone works fine (for calls) with 126.96.36.199, and with each non-successful attempt I have downgraded the OS.
Also read about wiping the phone, and reloading instead of just upgrading the OS. So, last night I wiped it with javaloader, and loaded only the 148 OS (no other 3rd party apps). This did not work either.
My guess is this is the reason why Verizon has not released a later version of the OS, is there is some revision of H/W rev. or some other glitch that is causing this problem.
Has anyone else experienced this problem? If so, did you find a solution other than resorting to .75? This OS is buggy, and I would love to upgrade.
