Unhappy handheld 4.1 software - 11-14-2005, 11:22 AM

Does anyone know if the handheld 4.1 software will be available as an upgrade from Verizon? (if so, when?) or will it only ship with their new 7130 device?
Also, if someone can point me to where I can find the new features of 4.1 I'd greatly appreciate it.

TIA

Again, nobody knows this. People ask every day. There are no scheduled times for a 4.1 release as of yet. Probably by the end of the year or first of the year, but that is only an uneducated guess.

Were you trying to link to 4.1 of the BB desktop software?

Talking Updated URL - 11-22-2005, 07:30 PM

Mark is exactly correct. After clicking on the URL below, there should be a link labeled "Service Packs" below the Support section. One of the options on the next page will be 4.1.

http://www.blackberry.com/products/s...ge/index.shtml

And they say i am a newbie!

I am not sure, however, what all is included with 4.1 other than some updates related to Bluetooth.

Mark is always correct. But I still think you're referring to v4.1 of the desktop software, which is basically irrelevant to this thread. You'd be correct in noting that 4.1 is also the version number for the latest handheld OS, but it is only available on certain new BBs, and the initial post asked when it will be available for the rest of us.

As for the features added in 4.1, there are several threads on the subject, but perhaps the most anticipated feature is the ability to set a distinctive ringtone for certain callers.
