Thumbs down Sync filters only one way? - 11-15-2005, 05:44 PM

Well, corp. came down and says no more personal anything on our pc's...so out go the personal contacts in my Outlook contacts manager. Problem--my bb is a personal device that i have approval for use in conjunction with our corp. bes server and as such, have both personal and corporate contacts in.

The filters in pim config for the address book appear to be only one way--from pim to bb. Please, I beg, don't tell me a fellow engineering colleague was that short sighted...

How can I prevent sync from erasing the address book entries that are not sync'd? I will need to sync business contacts only with my business pc, and personal contacts only with my personal pc, without the business sync overwriting the personal sync and vice versa (currently, I only sync apps at home since corp pc's don't allow us to have admin rights and installing software on bb can be a real hassle with their temporary "admin rights" granting tools--we are talking days to get a workaround each time).

I'm not sure I looked very well for this topic in other posts, but you know, how do you phrase this kind of search query? Mine weren't successful at any rate, so I hope someone will be kind enough to help.

Thnx!

Liberal? is what our Constitution is...

Conservative? is reading it in the plain English is was written in...

The trouble with Republi-Crats is that they can't read plain english.
