Default Device Default Calendar - Wont sync with outlook...fix?

Please Login to Remove!

I back up my phone regularly, but I do NOT sync it with outlook normally.

I upgraded my OS today, and now the calendar events dont show up in my Today theme. I realize its because its not showing up as my email address calendar its showing up as "Device Default"

Is there an easy way to change all my calendar events from Device Default to my Email calendar or am I going to have to reenter all my cal events manually.

There is no way to go into the even and change the send using: Default Device to the email address (ive tried)

My default services is already set to my email address so all NEW entries show up on my Today theme.

thanks in advance

Try this while your BB is not connected to your BB.

On the BlackBerry go to Options -> Advanced Options -> Service Books, delete all your CICAL entries. Then check your Calendar, that should set all your calendar events to "device default" then go back into the Service Books, hit the menu and choose "undelete" So it brings back your all CICAL entries, now check you calendar it should have moved all your calendar entries to your email address calendar.

Steve - thanks for the reply but I broke down in that 2 hours looking and reentered all 70 events manually. I will try that in the future if it happens again.

Steve--

I deleted the CICAL line, and everything worked fine. I then undeleted it, and everyhting switched right back to 2 calendar types. I deleted it again, then synced (so everyihtng loaded back in to Outlook). Do I need to undelete the CICAL?

Nope, delete all the CICALs and then login to your BIS account and re-send your service books. (Or from the email setup icon)

Let me know how it works out,.

Steve--

I did it, and immediately, my appointments split back into two sets. All of this started because my firm put in a new webmail system, so my original email address set up with Blackberry Internet no longer worked. I had to create a new one. Same email address, just a different log in (from xxxxxx@mycompany to domain\xxxxxx@mycompany). Once I did that, the calendars split, and 80% of my appointments did not transfer to Outlook. My two calendars on the BB were xxxxxx@mycompany and device default. No way to merge them or choose which one I wanted.

Right now, on my service books, I have two email entries, both the same address xxxxxxx@mycompany. One is a CICAL and the other CMIME. Yesterday, when I deleted the CICAL line, everything worked fine. I got all emails, calendar entries were from one source, and sync operations worked fine.

Do I absolutely have to have the CICAL account? What does it do for me?

Thank you.

You can delete the CICAL entries but they will come back.

Are you on a BES?

Do you ever sync with the Desktop Manager?

Steve--

Nope, not on a BES. Email pushes from the webmail server, and tasks, calendar, address book and notes synch hardline daily with Desktop Manager.

ok.

Delete all your CICAL entries and then sync your calendar with the desktop manager, this way your entire calendar is in one calendar in outlook.

Then resend your service books.

If your calendar events still split up, then use the desktop manager go into the Backup/Restore section go into Advanced and clear the Calendar and Calendar All entries. (make sure all your events are in Outlook prior because this will delete them from your BB totally)

Then sync with the desktop manager, this will send all your outlook calendar events into 1 calendar on your BB.

Default Additional steps

After having to delete and restore Email accounts on BIS, I ended up with the same problem of calendar entries split between "default" and another. In addition to going to Backup and deleting the calendar, then re-synching with Outlook, I learned a little more.

You have to be sure to tell the setup that Outlook wins in the conflict, and be sure to go to Options>Advanced>Default Services and set the calendar yo want it all to go to. I didn't do this, and it went to my Yahoo calendar, so I had to delete entries and go through the process again. Finally worked. Thanks StephenO86!!
