Default Can I downgrade OS from 4.6.0 or something higher version of OS to lower version

Please Login to Remove!

Hi there,
Around 2 years ago you could downgrade OS of your device (let say from 4.5.0 to 4.2.1). Not sure if we still can do it and if yes, then how?

Thanks,
Anu

Wirelessly posted

I'm sure you can just get the older OS, wipe your device and then install the old OS.

I'd be a little careful here.
firstly, according to the OP's profile he is using a 9000 Bold.
there is only one software release that I know of for this device.

If you are talking about an older device, then you should be ok as long as you can find the device specific software from somewhere.

Why would you want to lose functionality and bug fixes though?

Here is a link that will step you through the downgrade process. As previously mentioned, be sure you are downgrading to an OS that is designed for your model of BlackBerry. Which carrier it is for doesn't matter.

ndub33, thanks for the link. I need to try to take my Storm 9530 back from .151 to .122. I followed the instructions and uninstalled all of the other OSes from Add/Remove Programs. I re-installed .122 . . . well, actually the choice it gave me was to Repair or Remove and I selected Repair. I deleted the vendor file and ran the launcher. It gave me a list of 3rd party apps, and I deslected a few to remove them while it was replacing the .151 OS with .122. The process seemed way too short and when the device was finished with all of its restarting it still has .151 loaded.

Is there any hope for me ...er, my device? Thanks.
