Default Upgrade error when going to any version above SP1 HF2 - 11-25-2005, 09:45 AM

Hey all,

I was just wondering how so many people manage to install SP3 and above on their BES systems. I have a server here that I have been trying to upgrade for days now and constantly keep gettingthe same error "DB upgrade failed"
Has anyone encountered this when going to any version above SP1 Hotfix 2?

Many thanks

bump! Has nobody encountered this issue before, I can't get any support for this, because Vodafone UK currently do not support SP3 and definately not SP2 after what happened to the BBC, so if anyone has any suggestion it would be really appreciated

That error could mean many different things. Are you using MSDE or SQL? Is it local or remote? What version of Exchange are you running? When applying the SP make sure you are logged in as the BESAdmin account.

I am running SQL 2000 SP4, its a remote SQL server although on the same site. We are running Exchange 2003 SP1, and I am logged in as besadmin.
Does the databse not allow itself to be upgraded if other BES servers are writting to it? As thats the only option I could think of.
