Default Blackberry HTTP Error - Downgrading to Older OS - 01-03-2005, 12:12 PM

I searched through the forums and saw some mention to this but couldn't find an answer. I upgraded my Blackberry 7280 from 3.7 OS to 4.0 OS. I use this blackberry on the AT&T Wireless network and it is used on my company's BES server (3.7). I was just doing this to test the new features and figured that there wouldn't be much of a problem, however, when I launch the BB Browser - i get an HTTP Error: 400 saying it cannot access any sites (mMode works fine though). I believe this deals with the TCP/IP function of the browser and I went and set my APN to Proxy under Options -- TCP. This did not seem to help so I am thinking right now just to go back to the 3.7 OS. However, I have not been able to find a copy of the older software to try and install. I deleted the vendor.xml file , uninstalled my Desktop Manager and reinstalled the 3.7 Desktop Manager to try and see if it detected that the blackberry wasn't the right version but this didn't seem to help.

Anyone have any other solutions or know where I can get the older OS?

Unfortunately that page on blackberry's site only has the most up to date version of the software (4.0 for 7280). Thanks for the help though.

I have the same issue since upgrading to 4.0

We run Websense for URL filtering. I have found that I can get to internal web sites but not external. When I was running 3.7, Websense would prompt for user credentials, but I have been unable to get this working with 4.0

Any suggestions beside upgraded the BES server to 4.0??

Thanks

We were seeing the exact same errors concerning internal vs. external sites.

Check my post in this thread on these very forums: http://www.blackberryforums.com/show...4491#post34491

It might be a starting point for your Websense t-shooting.

Hope this helps...
