this isn't really a big deal, but im using the official new bbm, and before i used to have my facebook connected to my contacts which loaded their pic in to the beta bbm. now then they all got the beta bbm and they changed their display pictures to what ever, and thats what would show up on mine. now i am using the official release and they are on the beta, and none of their own pics seem to load up in mine, only a few, as well as their names dont update only a select few... is there a setting i need to change to allow this all to work? and i have tried a battery pull

I've heard of others having this problem, but haven't heard of a cause/fix for it yet.

What if you change your FB to NOT connect to your contacts, save that change, then change it back so FB does connect to your contacts. Maybe they will get updated....? Shot in the dark....

I have deduced that persons who use the official BlackBerry messenger 5, do not get avatar updates from persons who currently use the beta messenger 5. I tested this in my circle and found that as I updated the beta to the official and then rebooted the device their pictures showed up.

So that's the fix, update from the beta and you're good.

i also found this works. my friends couldn't see my display pic. so what i did was changed it and then reverted back to the original one i wanted and lo and behold they could all see it. there's a probable fix to it as well.

but yea kirrin, you're right on this.. my brother couldn't see my disp pic automatically updated the first time i got bbm 5.0.0.33 and he's on the beta.
