a little more info is needed.
why cant you?
is it giving you an error?
is it just not loading the backup process?

The backup process stops at Messages and says error.

Yes the messages dont get backed up so it stops.

What version of DM are you using?
Have you tried a different version?
Have you tried a different PC?

Not yet - I shall try that - turns out my Bold is on the fritz. ATT is sending me a new one because I suddenly stopped getting emails and browser is gone - spent hours with ATT support and they can't find anything wrong on their end. Weird. All settings and provisioning is fine but device won't receive emails.

Lately, with other users I've been seeing the same issues that you describe. I even had the same problem just a couple days ago. This thread has worked for some but didn't work for me. http://www.blackberryforums.com/beta...bb-8900-a.html

What solved this for me was a SIM swap.
