Angry DM5: I just want to install one program! - 10-28-2009, 04:35 AM

DM5 is junk. I have the latest AT&T OS (4.6) and have also added BBM5.0. Every time I load up DM5 it tries to get me to "upgrade" to the newest OS which is actually a downgrade (297 to 167 I think it is). There is no way I can see to just install one application from an .alx because it will try to wipe my phone and put this inferior OS on it. Not to mention BBM is listed twice, once for both versions. And if I leave the old version unchecked, it says it is going to remove BBM from my phone. If I check it then it says I will be downgrading.

So how can I install a single application with this backwards piece of software? Or is there some alternative that would work just as well?

1. Uninstall any other OS releases on your PC other than the one you have.
2. Go to your PC Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs and find the DM installation and click to change it (not remove) and find the option to notify of updates and disable that.
3. Reboot your PC.
4. Try the DM again and see if you get those upgrade notification.

Finally, leave the BBMessenger as it, it won't mess with it. Your AppLoader is seeing it twice, the old version on the PC, and new version on the device.
