Default Cant Intellisync: Outlook Greyed Out - 12-16-2005, 01:11 PM

When I try to setup my PIM for synching to Outlook, I cant choose MS Outlook for my conduits. When I got into Intellisynch and under Configuration choose Configure PIM, as soon as I click on MS OUtlook to set it up, the "OK" button gets greyed out.

WHy is this?

If this is first time then you have not set up the PIM config. When you select the PIM configure it will ask you to map the items (Task, Memo, Address Book) to the application (Outlook 2000) etc .. probably you have not done that.

I dont even get to that stage.

I installed the software and plugged by BB into the USB.

Then I choose "Intellisync" and then I need to Configure the PIM. As soon as I get into that screen, there is nothing next to Address Book, Calendar, etc.

When I click on one of them and try to configure where it should synch to, U get a list of choices, i.e. Lotus Notes, MS Outlook, etc.

When I choose MS Outlook as the program to synch to, the "OK" and "Options" buttons immediately become grey, and I cant select anything other than Cancel. So I just cant configure synching at all...

I'm getting a similar problem - did you solve it?

Really hope that you did and that you might be able to pass on the solution!!

I have checked the data settings and thery are

C:\Documents and Settings\*insert your name here*\Application Data\Research In Motion\BlackBerry\

like you have said... is this correct?

I think the problem boils down to running my outlook from a hotmail account and then trying to sync my BB with my outlook, but i'm not sure!!

I must admit that's a set up I am not familiar with but it could well be the case, you could try creating a fake mapi profile on Outlook and see if it will synch with it?
