Default Intellisync additions?

Please Login to Remove!

When I bought my 7130e at the beginning of the month, I downloaded the latest desktop manager from RIM's site. The list of PIMs that can be synced with is rather limited, and one of my favorites - Essential PIM - is not listed at all.

Is the list of sync-able applications ever updated (as many of the listed ones are already a version or two behind), and are any ever added? I already use Outlook for one specific set of projects, and would like to be able to use EssentialPIM for all my BB info.

I am also up for suggestions for any other options.

Are there any other round-about options for syncing with EssentialPIM? I've heard about things such as syncML, etc. but I don't really know anything about them? My goal is to be able to sync between blackberry and desktop PIM aside from Outlook/Lotus/spending money. A perfect option would be Mozilla Thunderbird's Lightning extension. I'm open for other free alternatives, and it doesn't necessarily have to be a wireless sync. Any help is greatly appreciated.
