Default Desktop can't detect 7520

I bought my BB from a friend and wasn't able to get the software. I DL'd 4.1 off the BB site, installed and plugged in the BB to an open USB. Desktop manager can't detect the BB, any help? I already did the sim swap at Nextel so everything in the phone is working, I think. Well voice, DC and email work fine, but internet is a little funny...it could be operator error there.

In the first place you have to learn to use the search feature the issues you are having have been covered here before quite a few times to say the least. The last thing we need is to start a new thread every time someone has a question and does not search enough.

Preaching to the choir out of the way, so here we go.
Did you connect it to a hub or to a direct USB port, many times hubs do not recognize the BBs?

Did you install the handheld software on your PC, the same place you got the desktop manager will have the handheld. Even if the BB has the software in place already you still need it on the PC to be able to install drivers and the like.

At the site you get the software from they will have links to Manuals and to users guides, that is a good thing to have so I suggest you download it also.

Finally at the home page of this forum there are quite a few sticlies in place that you should also take the time to familiarize yourself with. You will find them extremely useful in getting you started on a rewarding trek, Discovering your BlackBerry.

I did a search and couldn't find it. I tried a new port and my PC recognized it and installed the drivers, but Desktop Manager still can't find it. I read the users guide from Nextel's website and couldn't find anything...that's why I posted here hoping I could get some help and not get blasted. Oh yeah the BB is turned on too.

Look I am sorry for blasting but it is frustrating to see the same questions comming up all the time when they have beeen asked before, I know that the search engine is not the best but a little persistance pays off, here is a thread I found searching by handheld not detected. Read through it and see if there are some ideas you can try.
