Verizon 7250 OS 4.0.2 Desktop 4.1

I mucked around with installing some themes, but decided I don't like them, so I removed them and went back to the Verizon default.

Now, when I set my font to BBMillbank to 7 point, the setting doesn't stick. More specifically, some of the applications switch to BBMillbank 7, but the e-mail application does not - it's stuck on BBMillbank 6. If I set it to 8, that setting WILL stick. After setting the font size to 7, saving settings, then reopening the Screen/Keyboard control panel, the font size shows up as 6 again!

Is there any way to reinstall just the fonts? Any other ?

Nope, there is no way to install just the fonts. It is installed by default along with the system software. Just use Application Loader from Desktop Manager. You likely corrupted the font entries by messing with themes.
Using App Loader will resolve this and only takes minutes to run.

The reason I ask is that you said it only takes a few minutes, but I remember it taking half and hour...

Edit - Okay - went into the App Loader, but I'm not sure exactly what I'm supposed to do. Tried to "add" the Platform.alx but it won't let me since it's already installed. Is there a way to force reinstalls of system software...?

The handheld software will be reinstalled by default. Do a backup first just in case the load is interrupted, then click "Finish".
It only takes a couple minutes but your handheld does a cold boot after it completes which...depending on what model you have...could take up to 10 minutes.
It's pretty painless. <shrugs>

mine did this too when i upgraded it to 4.0.2 (my 7290)

I fixed it by doing this:

delete the 'DESKTOP [SYNC] service book
take a backup from before the 4.0.2 update - go to advanced under 'backup and restore' on the BB Desktop
restore 'options' only from the old backup
reboot the phone, plug in to the machine and start the BB desktop again (this will reinstall the desktop sync)

...if your just on BIS, dont worry about the service book - you wont need to delete it. On exchange server options are synced wirelessly and will be grayed out until the service book is deleted!

Wiping and reloading WILL NOT fix this. I tried everything and this is the only one that worked. Also, dont try changing the font after as you cant put it to 7 again... its a bug in 4.0.2!

Whew - I thought it was just ME going crazy! Thanks so much for posting. I suddenly feel more confident in my sanity!

So does it work? I'd really like to know if restoring an 'Options' database that was backed up prior to installing software update 4.0.2 would resolve this issue. It's just data so I'd like to know how it would make a difference.
