Default Email notification with IMAP-IDLE?

Please Login to Remove!

Hi guys!

Great forum! Quick question: Is the e-mail client configurable to get the BB e-mail notification (the little envelope with the red star on my homescreen) when using IMAP-IDLE instead of BIS, BES or any kind of Blackberry service my carrier provides? I am interested in the current Storm 2. Thank you!

Best regards
Thomas

Wirelessly posted (White and Nerdy)

The emails are pushed to the device as they arrive. There's no way to control the timing of them. (That's what your asking from how I understand it)

Well thank you dankarlinski!

And sorry for not being clear enough. I am not talking about the timing, I am asking if you can configure the e-mail client (of the Storm 2) to use IMAP-IDLE instead of push mail AND if it then as well shows the "new mail symbol".

Nope. BIS doesn't support IMAP-IDLE
